The subject of gratitude is visited by many people these days, and could, in the opinion of some, be getting old.  I, however, feel that it can’t be addressed often enough, nor proven by example enough.

It’s the little things which make the biggest difference.

Though I make a point of including five gratitudes with every post (and sometimes, even a bonus or two) I’ve learned that it really makes a difference when I express my gratitude over every little thing throughout the day.

Case in point:  a few weeks ago, after having days when my contact lenses simply would not cooperate, I decided to change my tactics.  Before I start to put them in in the morning, I tell them how grateful I am that they are going in the first time without any particles or pieces of fur to irritate my eyes.  Since then, they go in, first time, every time without an irritants.  Coincidence?  I doubt it.

I’ve used the same technique to get green lights along whichever route I might be traveling, and even the ones which would always impede my progress have been more likely to either be green when I got there, or turn very quickly after my arrival.

Just pick something easy to start with to prove preemptive gratitude really works!

Now that I’ve proven that the small things work, I’m moving on to bigger things.  I know that the bigger things take a little longer to manifest (and here is where a lot of people tend to lose faith) so I just remain persistent, sort of like my last post where I spoke of my recent win over the WordPress setup battle.  I express my gratitude every day for the work which not only fulfills me but meets and even exceeds my financial needs.

Of course, it is also important to recognize the little signs along the way which push you towards things which will help your cause.  If you ignore them, you are undermining that gratitude.  In fact, expressing appreciation for the things which are put in your path to aid you in receiving is another place where gratitude is important.  Like everything else, the more you’re grateful for something, the more you’ll receive.  So if you express gratitude for the helpful hints along the way, guess what?  That’s right!  More helpful hints!

More lessons to learn!

The transition from Blogger to WordPress comes with its own set of challenges– but also, it’s own set of lessons.  While researching how to change fonts and font sizes, I discovered that this needs to be done in the text tab using HTML.  As I’ve never really had cause to learn HTML, even rudimentary stuff like fonts and font colors, this opens up a whole new world for me!  But if I can master some of the basics (and I’m considering purchasing a copy of “HTML for Dummies”, it will make it much easier to get the look I want when I do launch my website.

Every door that opens for me these days is really the baby steps I’ll need to prepare me for the opening of the next door!  In the past, I’ve referred to lessons as the things which help us add tools to our virtual tool box so we’ll have what we need when the next challenge arises.  What’s happening now is giving substance to my earlier description.  Knowledge of HTML as well as the ins and outs of WordPress will definitely be tools in that toolbox which will be invaluable for owning and operating my own website!  But the real bonus is that the more things I learn, the more I protect the integrity of my brain cells and the slower I age!  Win-win!

But I’ve rambled on and changed direction enough for tonight.  Let’s get to my gratitudes and call it good, ok?

1. I am grateful for opportunities to learn new things.

2. I am grateful for amazing nights of dancing with all of the tougher line dances PLUS an added bonus!  A plethora of single men to dance with, and the absence of quite a few of the regular ladies!

3. I am grateful for the launching of my new blog site, though readership is very low at the moment.

4. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn how to boost readership on my new site.

5. I am grateful for the abundance in my life:  Love, peace, harmony, joy and prosperity.

Love and light
